Another great collaboration between Disney and Pixar this film that is available to watch in 3D was released in 2009. It was an instant hit with critics giving it a huge thumbs up and website reviews were giving the film anywhere between 97% and 99% for how good the film was. In fact it managed to pull in over seven hundred and thirty one million dollars worldwide at the Box Office. Because of the huge splash it made and the success of the film, it won 2 Golden Globe Awards and was also nominated for 5 Academy Awards of which it won 2 of them.

The story begins with a young, shy boy called Carl Fredricksen, who is just potty about an inventor called Charles F. Muntz. Muntz is currently being investigated for deception as the skeleton he has unearthed is being called a "fake" and that he fabricated it.

Outraged Muntz decides to travel back to Paradise Falls (the location of the where he discovered the dig site)and not return until he has captured one alive to prove he is not a fake or a phony.  As Carl begins to grow up he meets a young girl who is very tomboyish in her own way and that once they begin speaking they find they have something massive in common she is also a Muntz fan, a really big one. Ellie has a scrapbook full of ideas which she shares with Carl. One of her main ideas is to uproot her "clubhouse", which is nothing more than an abandoned house within their immediate neighborhood, and rebuild it onto the side of a cliff in Paradise Falls, the last place that Muntz has been seen whilst he went to go and look for the giant bird.  Time marches on and Ellie and Carl get married and renovate the abandoned house to make it into their home. Carl and Ellie grow old together and even though they save up to go to Paradise Falls they never make it there because they always have something more important to pay for. When they do finally get the chance and the trip is booked, Ellie takes a turn for the worse and the trip has to be cancelled because she slips away.

The story then follows Carl in his madcap idea to keep his home by tying millions of inflated balloons to the house in an attempt to get round the court order. He wants to keep his promise to Eliie, now a child called Russell accidentally get caught up in it all as he wants to be a Wilderness Explorer.  A thunderstorm grips the house??..
This is a brilliant family film that will have you all leaping off your seat with joy at this funny, yet stylish film.
